Linda King is a diverse multidisciplinary artist working across a broad spectrum of creative fields, including ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, performance art and large-scale community murals. Heavily involved in the East Sussex art scene, King has collaborated with prominent creative hubs Same Sky, Radiator Arts, and Plunge Creations to develop sets and immersive public art. Her visual art serves as an emotional and intuitive inquiry, blending personal storytelling with raw, expressive imagery.

This plate is a beautiful snapshot of the rebellious 1990s art movement. By dressing her central female figure in a whimsical, blue polka dot dress while keeping the male figure completely nude, King brings a playful, punk-adjacent irreverence to the piece. It is a brilliant example of early ’90s craft that blends feminist commentary with graphic pop-culture style.

Linda King packs an intricate world of texture into this shapely plate. The recessed central well is transformed into a beautifully illustrated pond with cobalt-glazed water lilies, into which the female character gazes.
