Studio potter Louise Darby (b. 1957) graduated from the Loughborough College of Art and Design in 1978 and set up her permanent studio near Stratford-upon-Avon in 1983. As a member of the Craft Potters Association, she has spent over forty years creating contemporary ceramics.
Stoneware pieces include cylinders, large decorative bowls and, more rarely, sculptural forms, featuring detailed surface work – incised, sgraffito, and pierced animal decorations, accented with black or multi-coloured details.
