Founded in 1951 by Ivan and Kay Martin—following Ivan’s formative years working alongside Ray Finch at the legendary Winchcombe Pottery—Cricklade Pottery became celebrated for its finely thrown, beautifully glazed domestic wares. This large 26cm pitcher jug represents the finest of Ivan Martin’s legacy. Coated in a vibrant, deep teal glaze and decorated with minimalist black brushstrokes, the piece combines traditional English vernacular and mid-century design. Bearing the signature impressed workshop marks near the base, this is an excellent, well-preserved piece of 20th-century British studio pottery history.
