Over the past week, there has been a constant stream of winter thrushes migrating through the valley.  Fieldfares have been the most abundant with probably over 500 on some days.  Redwings have been less abundant but still in good numbers, easily distinguished by their ‘tseep’ contact call.  Other highlights have been 2 Greenfinches which we don’t regularly see, and also I have heard Bullfinches twice when I’ve been out, so hopefully we’ll start seeing them on the feeders soon.  Woodpigeon movement has also been very impressive.
